Happy Friday everyone! I can’t believe it’s the second Friday in March already! This year is flying by sooooo fast – where does the time go!? I received some exciting news this week – in the form of a job offer with Saks Fifth Avenue! I made a very tough decision to leave my corporate job at the end of last year, and move back home to be closer to my friends and family, as well as pursue my other interests such as this blog and begin working on my own online shop. I feel that Saks is a great fit for me, and the new gig will still leave me with time to pursue my other goals, which I didn’t have before in my old position. So, needless to say I’m thrilled! Visiting New Orleans anytime soon? Be sure to come say hi, and shop with me at Saks! Now on to some of this week’s favorites.
J. Crew does it again. I mean seriously can J. Crew do any wrong lately? I spent some time this week browsing through their newest Style Guide and I must say that the new Italian Shoe Collection is to die for. The ‘Etta’ pump and the ‘Janey’ flat are all excitingly updated with fresh colors, textures, and shine for spring. This pastel pump, this amazing smoking slipper, and this fun printed flat are some of my favs!
Emerald City. The countdown to St. Patty’s day has officially begun. I’m usually not a big celebrator of the holiday (I’m more of a Cinco de Mayo type of gal – love those margaritas!) but with emerald green being one of the trendiest colors of the year, it may be time to pick up some emerald green pieces. Thanks St. Patrick’s Day for giving me an excuse to pick up some green goodies!
Kids say the darndest things. Please tell me you’ve seen AT&T’s new ‘It’s Not Complicated‘ commercials with the adorable precocious children! They’re up to about their 7th? one now and I just can’t get enough. Cutest. kids. ever. And they say the funniest things. I wonder if the commercials are scripted or do they just give the kids free reign to improvise and say what they wish? I’d like to believe the latter. But if not, still equally as hilarious. This one is my all-time favorite and this one is a close second. Anyone in need of some mid-day comic relief can check all of the vids out here.
Getting organized. I caught the organizing bug this week and spent plenty of time doing all of the boring but essential tasks we all know we need to do but avoid like the plague. Think updating various banking and credit account information, filing paperwork, and organizing the closet. Not fun, but much needed!
